Hematite is a striking, metallic mineral known for its smooth, reflective surface and deep, earthy hues. Typically ranging from dark grey to a rich reddish-brown, its name is derived from the Greek word "haima," meaning blood, due to its reddish tint that we commonly see as inclusions in other crystals or from residual powder. This iron oxide mineral is commonly found in sedimentary rocks and often forms in ancient deposits, contributing to its long-standing use throughout history. 

Hematite is widely regarded for its powerful grounding and protective energies. It is a useful stone in to enhancing mental clarity and focus, making it particularly useful during times of stress or decision-making. Its stabilizing properties help individuals feel more centered and balanced, especially during moments of emotional turbulence or when facing overwhelming situations.

Spiritually, hematite is thought to act as a shield, guarding against negative energies and promoting a sense of calm and protection. Many use it to deflect unwanted energies, creating a protective barrier around the body and spirit. - I experienced this in an unexpected way when I was 17 years old. — I kept having reoccurring dreams of astral travelling to different places and in those places I would be met with a negative entity that disguised itself as a trustworthy person in my waking life. The person would approach me, inviting me to hug or hand shake..as I got closer to the person, I felt something off and in my conscious mind (as I was sleeping) I figured out that it WASN’T a trustworthy loved one, it was an entity disguising itself to try and gain my trust. I realized that by touching it physically (even though we were out of body),  the entity had access or permission to my spirit, to further sweep me away from my body that I would not have a way back. This happened 7 times IN ONE NIGHT. Well thankfully after I figured it out, I was quickly sent to a protective space, where a guardian angel quickly told me that I needed to put Hematite under my pillow if I wanted to be protected and grounded while I slept. At the time, I was not attracted to or interested in Hematite, plus I was at my dad’s house, he doesn’t collect crystals. I responded; “Hematite? Really?? Well where the hell am I supposed to find that right now?” The angel played back a memory of me giving my father a HEMATITE bracelet for his birthday and explained that the Hematite crystal fell off the band and that it was in the junk drawer in his kitchen. Sure enough, I quickly woke up, ran to the kitchen….and guess what I found in the junk drawer? HEMATITE! After that, the astral travelling stopped and I slept well.

Through my experience and hearing similar stories from other crystal healers, it has been discovered that Hematite will help in grounding one’s energy, anchoring the spirit to the physical body, while fostering a strong connection to the earth with extra aid from angelic beings. This makes it a perfect crystal for those who may be dealing with paranormal activity such as hauntings or visitations from ghosts. It is also a useful tool in protecting those who enjoy paranormal research & investigation, assuring that no energetic attachment can take place.

Hematite has a magnetic quality both physically and energetically, allowing the user to attract experiences that mirror their current head space in order to learn karmic lessons quickly so that their focus can be redirected on their strengths and higher purpose. This makes it the perfect stone for pioneering entrepreneurial type people with a warrior spirit, who have a big duty to fulfill on the collective scale while also facing ‘normal’ human challenges  on a personal level. Due to its metallic make-up, Hematite is among the best crystals to use for courageousness, self confidence and strength. As mentioned earlier, it resonates with the warrior and will guide the user to move through fear and learn or grow from failure. It will help one maintain the attitude of never giving up. If one way didn’t work, another way will because no matter how many times we fail there is always a way to be forged.
